Reusable shot blasting Abrasive Media Reusable Abrasive Shot blasting Media including Chilled Iron, Steel Shot, Aluminum Oxide, Garnett, and Glass Bead are stocked by The Surface Finishing Equipment Group-TONGBAO Blasting and Finishing Equipment in Hangzhou China Reusable media is generally used for "closed circuit" blasting such as blast cabinets or blast chambers, were the media is collected, optionally graded, and re-used. A selection of media types and their typical applications is shown. All are available in a range of grades. The Reusable Abrasive Media shown is normally available for collection from our Hangzhou depots or a delivery service to site can be arranged upon request.

NAME	PICTURE
Chilled Iron	A hard angular abrasive which has sharp cutting edges to promote a rapid cleaning action. Ideal for the fast cleaning of painted or corroded parts such as steel fabrications, ferrous castings, structural steelwork. Each pass of the media results in a fresh cutting etch which can provide a deep etch.
Aluminum Oxide	A sharp, long-lasting abrasive cutting media which will cut the hardest surfaces with fast cleaning. Typically used in blast cabinets to remove coating or provide an etch typically to a non-ferrous substrate. Applications include glass etching and providing a profile on stainless steel, cleaning of steelwork, heavily corroded components, valves, auto wheels, preparation for painting, enameling, epoxy coating etc. Available in both brown or white and virgin or reclaimed variants.
Glass Bead	Typically used for peening, polishing, mould cleaning, removal of heat discolorations, deburring, and the removal of almost any surface blemish where a minimum alteration to the underlying surface is required.
	A spherical abrasive made from lead-free, soda lime-type glass Being totally inert, and silica free, there is no risk of corrosion or any contamination. Glass beads produce a smooth, bright finish, and can be recycled approximately 30 times.
Garnet	A hard natural mineral. For high performance blasting and sites requiring low dust levels. The coarser grades may be recycled a number of times. The smaller sizes are ideal for SAT Blast / Water  Blast applications.
Steel Shot	A smooth round profile steel with low breakdown rate. Ideal for surface peening or on metal fabrications. Used with the majority of wheel machine operations to minimse wear on the impellers.  Produces minimal dust. Also used for shot-peening to increase fatigue life of metals, especially in the aircraft and space industries.
